Weekly Wrap Up Post: November 1- 9th 2019

Hi my loves

I wanted to do a quick check-in and share how I'm doing on the reading challenge this week.  We finished out last month on a high and I love it. I took a few days to find what I wanted to read, bouncing between in-progress reads and starting a few new ones as well. Let's take a look at what's going on and see where we are:

Finished This Week:

Full reviews for all the books are pending:

I listened to the audiobook of Changling by Yasmine Galenorn and loved it. This world is expanding quickly and I can't wait to explore more. I do have another 16 books on my shelves so it should be interesting to see where the series goes.

I also listened to Locked In Temptation by Brenda Jackson and I'm officially in love with Ron Butler her narrator. I need her to have him narrate everything she writes from now on.

Currently Reading:
I'm in the middle of like 20 different books. A few historical romances, a few paranormal and just whatever else there is. Lol

In all honesty, I'm really reading and listening to the following:

The Exhibitionist by Tara Sue Me. I realized I needed some BDSM in my life and Scribd has this on audiobook so I'm going to be listening to this to and from work, it's only 7 hours so I'll finish this week.

Burn (Breathless 3)by Maya Banks.  I  picked this one up because it's the third and final installment in this series and I want to get some series get completed from the shelves.

Also, so many of the options on Scribd have been timed out due to how many I'm reading I can't continue the Yasmine series until next month so I'm reading the ones I can.

I'm also in the middle of The Duchess War by Courtney Milan. It's going to be the second book by her that I have read and I'm taking my time with this one because I'm not really in the historical mood and I don't want that to determine if the book is good or not.

A new ARC that I just started and can't wait to dive into is Awaken The Dragon by A.C. Arthur. Wasnt even sure what it was about other than dragons and then I read the first chapter and wow I'm definitely finishing this one this week as well.

Watching:

I actually have only watched one new movie this week and it's a favorite. 12 Dates of Christmas from Lifetime. It's such a great groundhog date style romance and I now need to do a full review on this one as well.

Have y'all heard the controversy around the new holiday movie Last Christmas?? I mean we as romance readers on twitter pretty much called it the second the trailer dropped and earlier reviewers have confirmed it, you can check out this article from Vanity Fair if you're ok with spoilers which I totally guessed based on the music and the way the first trailer was set up. They, of course, didn't help matters that once we started speculating on twitter they changed the trailer and all the posters.

This is not a Holiday Rom-Com, and I'm kind of annoyed they think we're so dumb we wouldn't have spotted it. Listen ok, those of us love HEA can tell when a movie isn't going to give us those feels and trying to fool us isn't ok.

Listening To:

I have a general list of artists I tend to listen to, like when I'm working on the blog I have a playlist with specific songs that get me in the introspective mood to write. My latest obsession is from Sylvia Day, in her notes about writing Butterfly in Frost she shared that the song Happy by Marshmello & Bastile was part of her process and I have been obsessed ever since. Then from there I stumbled on Kane Brown & Marshmallo's song together. One Thing Right  Like where have I been??
I've been a Kane Brown fan since I heard him like two years ago and I'm so happy to hear this one from him as well. I have these two on loop even as I'm writing right now. Lol What are y'all listening to?? Anything new??

After that I have a few others I would like to check out but none on a solid list yet. What are you reading this week my loves?? What'd you finish recently???

If you haven't finished anything yet are you participating in NaNoWriMo?? I'm not a writer but I'm using the motivation to write my blog reviews and these posts as well.  Are you watching any new Holiday romances??

Hope your reading week is a great one. If you're participating in NaNoWriMo, good luck.

Weekly Reading Wrap Up (October 7th- October 11th)

Hi my loves

It's the end of the week and I wanted to share with you all the things I've read this week so far, and since I didn't do one for the beginning of the month I'm going to add it in here too.

This week was a great reading week for me. I got so into Seressia's writing that I finished another of her series (this time in ebook format). I owned the first book in the Sons of Anubis series and then borrowed the rest from Hoopla. And I purchased (yes I know I'm supposed to be holding off on buying books but when she said it was on sale I couldn't pass it up) Anaconda by Jamila Jasper.

So let's talk about my reading since the beginning of the month, I've kinda been floundering on what to read, I've picked up several books but I hadn't found anything to grab my attention so I kept trying to read different books.
I read Xeni: A Marriage of Incovenicen by Rebekah Weatherspoon,  and loved this contemporary romance. Then dived into several others that I have since put on the back burner while I try to find the perfect book to read.
Then I snagged: ANACONDA by Jamila Jasper, which is a quick erotic 'reverse harem' read which was very interesting as it's told in parts and now I need to get the rest.

Then I gave in and grabbed more from the world of Seressia Glass. I owned the first book: and decided that I needed to know what this world was about and I wasn't disappointed at all; starting with SEDUCING THE JACKAL (Son of Anubis 1)  this was a short paranormal erotic read about enemies to lovers. Then, of course, I needed the rest of the books in my life, so I read (I accidentally read them out of order but whatevs)
CLAIMING THE JACKAL (Sons of Anubis 3) which is also an enemy to lovers erotic romance that was so emotional that made me fall in love with the characters.

And my final read for the week was HUNTING THE JACKAL which is a polyamorous erotic romance that I was so here for!!! It's exactly what I needed in my life.

And that's what I've read so far this week, I only owned one book off this list so even though I've read a few books only one counts towards the reading my own shelves challenge.

I'm currently in the middle of like six books and not sure what I'm reading for the weekend. I'm listening to Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn right now and enjoying that. I'm also physically reading The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury, as well as Forged in Desire (The Protectors 1) by Brenda Jackson and Heart of Evil ( Krewe of Hunters 2) by Heather Graham.

Not sure how the weekend is going to go, but I'll share my wrap up next week and let you know. What are you reading this weekend?? How was your reading week so far?? Did you have any favorites this week?? Please share in the comments, lets discuss

Have a Bewitching reading weekend my loves

Weekly Wrap Up February 1-10th 2017

Hi my loves it's February Wrap up time and I must share with you all the books I have taken on and read in the past few days.  I'll be sharing full reviews on most of them, let m know if you have read any of these and I will chat with you about them in the comment section.

I read a second chance cowboy romance that made me smile because of how the characters came together despite their families drama.  I loved that the author took on the subject of PTSD and ho it affects the men and women in the military but also how it affects their families as ell.  I really enjoyed this one so I gave it 3.5 stars.

I finally finished Maiden Flight (book 1 in the Dragon Knights Series) by Bianca D'Arc.  This one took me a little bit to get into because it was kind of hookey when it first started and I'm not really about that life.  I love romance but 2 second insta love makes me skeevy, however it does settle into a full world that she builds for us and it included dragons so I might go back to it, there were some pretty interest threads laid out that might make this world worth reading.  I have it 3 solid stars.

I also had this book on my shelves for over 14 years, and I made the decision to read it.  BABY BE MINE by Emily McKay.  I give the  book 3 stars and only because the male character saved the book, i got into a more in depth review, but ohmigawd, she was just so annoying and I anted to shake her, like girl what??

The next book I read includes my random.org pick for the month and I'm so freaking glad I read it, it actually became my fist 5 star read for the year so far and that is UGLY LOVE by Colleen Hoover,  My full review will be up on the blog next month for New Adult Month, but yeah I finally know why she's talked about so much among the new adult book lovers, this was awesome.

then i read RITUAL IN DEATH by JD Robb and I fell back into the In Death world with no problem, falling in love once again with our cast of characters and loving the mystery as it unfolded, I loved that there was a little bit of magic in this one even if Eve hates the Woo Woo stuff.  One of my favorites series, definitely a solid 4 star read.

I cheated and counted as a bonus read the next book from the In Death series CHAOS IN DEATH  this was a read I didn't expect and I totally LOVED the retelling that Eve has to face.  This was a cute story and a little bit crazy; I didn't know what to expect and I'm very glad I got to read it.  Another solid 4 star read.

There it is those are the books I have read for the first ten days of the new month. I can't wait to share with you the second weeks' wrap up.  How are you doing my loves?? Your reading goals working for you?? Share in the comments down below and we can motivate each other.

2017 Weekly Wrap Up Feb 1-5th

Welcome back my loves it's another week down and I wanted to share with you what I read, I'm finally into the 20s and I can't wait to go deeper into these numbers.  No video this week I'm getting a new webcam and I can't wait until it gets here to share better video quality with y'all until then I'll keep reading and writing:

Well let's take a look at what I read this week:

Cowboy Homecoming: Tomas by Linda Warren.  I've had this on my shelf since my very first BEA, yeah I know that's terrible but guess what I've read it now.  Lol And I actually enjoyed it and will be adding the other books to the series onto my TBR pile, hell maybe I'll get to them in the next 10 years or so.  At the rate I'm going it's quite possible.  It's a cowboy second chance romance so of course I loved it.   Full review for the book will be on the blog this month be on the look out.

Baby Be Mine by Emily McKay
I've owned this one since it came out in January 2003, that's 14 years y'all fourteen years, that's a whole teenager, and I'm only just now getting around to it.  I got this when I used to be apart of the Harlequin Reader Service subscription where they mailed you a big box of books each month. I've read and gotten rid of most of the books from those years, other than a few I haven't read.  This one was another of random picks from the shelf.  I'm glad I read it and I will have a review coming up soon as well.

Maiden Flight Bianca D'Arc

I normally loved Bianca's writing so when I saw this was for sale on Amazon I immediately snagged it.  Considering this is only 144 pages it took me a while to read it, because it takes a while to get to the good parts of the story. I've finished this with mixed feelings and I will definitely be sharing them soon.

And that's it that's what I've read this week Let me know what' you've managed to accomplish and let's cheer each other on.

Yearly Goal: 365
Accomplished: 20
Balance: 345

I'll see you next week for another fun wrap up my loves.

2017 Weekly Wrap Up 8-15th

Welcome back to the blog my loves. I hope you've had a rally good reading week.  I really had another good reading week this week.  It's not in quantity it's definitely in the quality of the books I read.  This week I completed three books and got three more on the hooks, so hopefully next week I'll have those on the read list.

Now let's talk about what I read.  I read A Christmas Prayer by Kimberla Lawson Roby.  I ended up giving this one four stars. I really got engaged to the story and wanted to read more so this went quickly.  I enjoyed the length of the story but wished we had gotten some more from it.  I will have a full review later.  *although I might save it for next yule*

I also read another my ARCs that I have on the list, I'm looking forward to sharing my full review later in the month on the blog on January 26th. Any Time Any Place is the second book in the family saga and I loved it.  I have once again added have added the first book on my tbr.

Then I decided to try out the erotica series I was recommended by one of my favorite Booktubers. The Reading Outlaw This series s called the The Beyond Series by Kit Rocha and it is fantastically erotic and sensual.  I can't wait to read the rest of the series.  This is so steamy, definitely highly recommend.

I'm going into next week with my reading lists still wide open and I'm just going to roll with it.  Let me know what you are doing on your challenges.

Yearly Goal : 365
Completed: 10
Left : 355

2017 Week 1 Wrap Up Jan 1-7

Hi My loves,
I wanted to start linking my videos here:

I'm so excited I did so well this week for reading. I'm so excited about all the books I managed to get read.  I literally flew threw my books and I'm loving the motivation it's creating.  Here is my Lora Leigh Challenge video showcasing the books on my shelves that I wanted to read.

So this week I managed to knock 5 books from the Lora Leigh challenge off the list. I read two of the books I actually had on my bookshelf and three books I purchased to read for the challenge.  These include :

I really enjoyed reading these and blew through them really quickly.  I absolutely loved this series I'm loving the transition from the Ellorascave series then the other books from Berkley.  I can't wait to follow the rest of the series which I have on my shelves.

Then because I really wanted to continue reading some of the books I had laid out in my tbr, I pulled Adoring Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan which comes out this month. I really enjoyed Holly's story and can't wait to share with you my full review.

And then because I wanted to know the story that was the background to the Adoring Ink book so I snagged Ink Endured and really enjoyed that one and needed to just read the rest of the series as well. (I now own all of them, and this is why my TBR is never going down. )

So there you have it I enjoyed my reading week with almost all my books being four star reads for me this weeks.  Enjoy the video where I share a little more about each and I will see you next week.

Oh Yeah I'm now down to 358 books to complete my yearly challenge.  I'm also now down from 28 books to be read in the  Lora Leigh Challenge to having only 23 left. Yeah I'm loving my progress this year so far!!!

Let me know how you are doing on your challenges and I can't wait to cheer o on.
