Synopsis:
Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks are back in the powerful finale of a provocative, sizzling-hot new erotic trilogy set in the world of J. Kenner’s beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me. He’s the only man I’ve ever loved, and the one man I can’t bear to lose. Jackson Steele is my light in this world. Charismatic, bold, and always in control, he knows what he wants and how to get it—and absolutely nothing stands in his way. His hold on me is magnetic, his claim on me complete, his kiss my ultimate escape. We both harbor dark secrets that could tear our lives apart. Though we’ve tried to bury our pasts, there are certain people who won’t let us forget. But the closer danger comes, the brighter the fire between us burns—our ecstasy consuming and soothing us both. There’s no telling what lies ahead, but I know that Jackson never gives in without a fight. I’d do anything he wants to keep him safe, give him anything he needs. And now that we’re in deep, nothing can make me run. Under My Skin is intended for mature audiences.
So when we left off, there was a bit of a cliff hanger, and the beginning of this is a quick catch up on the previous events.  I can't say I'm shocked or saddened to see a despised character get their comeuppance, but dang did it have to threaten our happy ending??

Sylvia is still struggling with the aftermath and her fears and Jackson is trying to help her while helping himself because let's be real his example isn't the best either.  Faced with some serious decisions, we have some beautiful happy moments, some moments I want to shake them both, and some sweet moments (mostly those with Ronnie in them) and a few moments where I want to hurt a few other people.

This picks up and keeps moving from the very beginning. Julie doesn't give our emotions time to come down, she just keeps rolling one after the other, until the end, and even the pseudo ending almost got me.  I was like no no no no don't let them miss each other!! I liked that even though this is an erotica, they do focus on the other aspects of their lives, we see a few of their friends as well, (when necessary), and we see them working on their relationship, and their jobs. Even as they grow as a couple and a people they are constantly under pressure to figure out who is trying to hurt them and this forces them into facing more of the past than they probably would have on their own.

Sylvia has a few moments where she is left wondering if the past has broken her too much for her to be any good to either Jackson or Ronnie.  I get it but at times, I wanted to yell at her that she was the one creating the issues where there really were none, but that's how fear works and that's what a self fulfilling prophesy is.

I wanted to know what happened so I kept reading, and I'm happy with the ending of this series. I can't wait to check out the Wanted series by Julie, I have so many more of her books on my shelves now.
 ★★★★1/2☆
I highly recommend for those who have read the series and can't wait to find out how it all ends.  Happy Reading
