OMGosh!! Rarely have I read Young Adult that has me so emotionally invested in the story. I truly enjoyed being back in the story. I love Kate and Henry together. although most of the book was spent with Kate coming to grips with her new role and her new responsibilities.
She also had to combat the ghost of her predecessor figuratively and physically. There were moments I really wanted to slap her especially when she did exactly what they asked her NOT to do. Kate's self-esteem is a problem because it lead her into doing so many things because she couldn't believe that Henry really wanted her. I mean I totally get it but how many times does he have to say it and show it before it clicks that he's not lying??
So many times in the book things would have gone better if she simply didn't assume, but then we wouldn't really have a story then huh?? The progress of the story was good, fast-paced and really drew you in. The ultimate betrayal at the end??!!! Yeah never saw it coming.
I purchased the other books in the series so I have no waiting period before I find out what really happens to Kate, Henry and everyone else.
