I wanted to share with you the authors I can't wait until their books come out. With this year's goal of reading my shelves I'm limiting what I'm bringing in, like actually limiting this year. With that I can only bring in 20 books for the year, yeah it's going to get dicey real soon cause I want so many books coming out this year.

It's a book about magic from the perspective of a black woman. Let that sink in, there are so many books about Ancestral magic and religious practices but Black and Brown voices are hidden by so many other voices. Why I'm Excited:
I've been reading this mafia family series since the first book came out and I'm seriously in love. Very erotic with a paranormal twist I haven't seen before I am hooked. I can't wait until their sister gets her own story because I just know it's going to be explosive. As each brother gets their own book the world they live in expands and we learn more about the different crime families and I can't wait to see what happens in this one.

Why I'm Excited:
I read the first of this duet really quickly and I was totally engrossed. The story isn't for the faint of heart and sweet Goddess does some stuff go down. I got the recommendation from a fave booktuber FallingOverBooks who recommended dark romance and this certainly meets the mark for that.  The book has not just a romance that is on the edge but a great mystery and some seriously messed up characters. I can't wait to see how they handle this.

I can't wait to read this. Beverly does an amazing job writing fun strong characters and fantastic witty female leads. Her male characters are amazingly strong, virile and know a good woman when they meet her. She never fails to share an amazing story and impart some great lessons about Black lives post Civil War. I have loved all the others I've read and just know this is going to be amazing. I didn't even really look up the synopsis until now, as soon as the link appeared to pre-order I did just based on her catalog.

2018 Books I'm Looking Forward To In 2019

Hi my loves

I'm going to be honest with you, for 2018 I really didn't pay attention to the bookish world and all that was happening.  Once the first half of the year happened I focused in more on my life and kind of fell away from books. However, there were a few books and authors I wanted to read.  These were the ones I wanted to check out.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Huang. This was everywhere on booktube and I wanted to know what everyone was talking about. This one made it onto the pile just for that.

Save The Date by Morgan Madsen. This one seemed like a great summer read and of course, so many people love her and I want to know what they were talking about.

Spinning Silver Naomi Novik She appears to write great fantasy and I want to read it. Plus just look at that cover.

Hurts to Love You by Alisha Rai. Because I've been a fan of hers for years. I read an erotica by her many years ago and every time I need to bust a slump I snag one of her works.

And I'm sure there are many more I'm going to kick myself later on for missing and not sharing, but as I'm writing this, these are the ones I can think of.

I've devoured this series and I can't wait to see what happens in this book. I'm hoping that Bernadine doesn't go backward, that the town holds Mal accountable and that we get more from the town's children as they grow. I've already pre-ordered this so I can get it immediately.
