Amazon Purchased & Freebies

Pre-Ordered Items:
Shadow Warrior by Christine Feehan. I love this series so far, I was hoping this would be the sisters' story but it isn't. I'll take what I can get. This is a great series, strong family dynamic, great erotica romance, and even better paranormal elements.

The Billionaire's Bargain by Naima Simone. Never read her before, started following her on facebook after she made a post an author I loved boosted and have stopped following her since. She shared this was coming out and I pre-ordered.

Enamoured by Giana Darling I read the first one in this duet and it was amazing. I highly recommend and I can't wait to get this one in my hands.

I got some of these on serious sale and I'm so excited to try these.
The Evolution of Sin Trilogy by Giana Darling This is the sister of the protag in Enamoured and Enthralled so I figured why not.

Fighting for Flight  J.B Salsbury. One of my booktube buddies shared that she loved this and I decided to snag it as well since our reading tastes are so similar.

Summer Romance Box Set Kandi Steiner. I got this box set for 0.99cents yes you read that right a three book box set for 0.99

For Dark Mafia Romance I grabbed these:

Enthralled  Giana Darling (READ). This is the beginning of that mafia duet that was darkly sensual and very effing crazy. It had murder, mayhem, and of course the mafia with a darkly erotic twist.

Monster In His Eyes  J.M. Darkhower

Hawaii Magic Beverly Jenkins

The Chalet (Submissive Series) by Tara Sue Me (READ) Grabbed this so I could read the series completely, and this was kind of necessary even though it's a novella.

Freebies:

Renee Rose's series had a few freebies. Hot aliens' in a menage or more romance?? Sign me up.

Their Zandavian Mate (READ)
His Human Slave  (READ)

Rocky Mountain Heat Vivian Arend

The Time Machine HG Wells

Rush Maya Banks.(READ)I wanted to get this read especially when I was at work and couldn't exactly whip out a huge book so I snagged an ebook copy on sale.

Captivated by You  Sylvia Day. Crossfire 4, (READ) apparently I didn't pre-order the ebook with the physical copy I also received.
Llewellyn's 2019 Witches Companion Guide to Contemporary Living. This is a monthly/ yearly almanac that I like to read.

I have finally hauled all the things before my paperbackswap items come in. What'd you get in your haul this week?? Share in the comments down below and I'll see you next week.

Happy Reading & Haulin' my loves

Book #Review: The Viscount's Christmas Temptation ( Dukes of War 1) by Erica Ridley .@ericaridley | Bewitching Bibliophile

Synopsis:

Certain individuals might consider Lady Amelia Pembroke a managing sort of female, but truly, most people would be lost without her help. Why, the latest on-dit is that rakish Viscount Sheffield is canceling the fĂȘte of the year because he hasn't time for silly soirees. He doesn't need time—he needs her! When a flash of lightning destroys the venue for his family's annual Christmas ball, Lord Benedict Sheffield intends to enjoy a relaxing holiday for once. But after twelve days of beguiling Lady Amelia's guerrilla tactics, he's up to his cravat with tinsel . . . and tumbling head over heels in love.

I got this on my kindle a few months ago and kept meaning to pick it up. Well I finally decided it was time to read it so I could read the rest of the series. And I actually liked it. This is a first time read from this author and I quite like her writing style and the way she creates a story.

This is the introduction to the dukes of War and in this we meet the sister of oldest of the group. Lady Amelia in modern society would be a party planner and planner addict, she plans everything and has back up plans for her back up plans. This allows her to live a quite life running her brother's household, but now she's turned her mind to being a wife and having a home, a husband and children who will give her adventure because of their unpredictability. She's counting on finding one at the annual Christmas Ball, but this time one thing doesn't go as planned because the party has been cancelled and Ameila can't deal with that.

I loved the story especially because Ben had no idea the storm that was about to hit his life. Lady Amelia was perfect for him, she was witty, strong and stubborn and totally challenged him, both of them were creatures of habit and had become accustomed to their routines, and without realizing it these routines became like prisons.

I loved that the story unfolded slowly and that for both characters, this was something that challenged their world views while making them both happy. I loved Amelia because she was so strong, and stubborn, she knew all along what she wanted and while Ben wasn't on her list she wasn't against going beyond that. I loved them together and her brother was such a good source of humor that i can't wait to see his story unfold as well.

★★★1/2☆☆

When small town girl Melinda Prescott is taken hostage by three hot bank robbers, she quickly discovers that a life of bank heists, luxury hotels, and kinky menages is way more exciting than working on the family farm. She should be scared of her dominating, fierce captors…but there’s something wicked inside her that’s craving to obey their every dark desire. Melinda eagerly throws in with her three smoldering fugitives…and soon realizes that these are no ordinary bank robbers—and that bad guys aren’t always who they seem. But will her delicious captors overcome their own demons enough to let her in? And can these underdogs fight an evil conspiracy that’s larger than all of them? Warning: This book contains a sexy bank-robbers-and-their-captive sandwich, light bondage, spanking, teasing hints of domination, and a little play-time in a hot tub. Oh, and some all-too-delicious alpha heroes who bend the heroine to their will.
I got this book for free on Kindle and I needed a quick read, so I grabbed it this weekend.  It started as a fun read and then tried to get serious. I wasn't aware that is was a series when I got it.

I'm sure to some this book would be interesting and there certainly were a few moments that pulled you in a made you really want to know what was going on, but then some inconsistencies would happen and back to being lost you go.  Overall though the book was kinda scattered an when I finished I also felt scattered like wait, so what just happened??

Was it supposed to be a fun fluffy erotica?? Because that's how it originally started, then it got serious and I wanted more from it and it just didn't deliver.  I was so lost the sex at times was good and at others I was like "meh", when she would get pulled out of the scene so would I and then I just never felt like it got hot enough to get back into it.  I don't know I just wasn't really feeling it.

I didn't get much from the other characters, we only got glimpses of who they were and it wasn't enough to really feel connected to them or their story.  The scenario seemed a bit far fetched like there are way better ways in which to seek freedom and I don't buy that you are this connected and you still don't know their real names, Nah bruh.

It had it's moments and it was fun while reading, if you can ignore the silly/crazy/slow moments that don't really fit.  In the end kinda forgettable.

Synopsis:
Before Kai joined the Cloud Fleet, he wandered… AMONG THE NAMELESS STARS Four years before the events of FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS, the servant Kai left the North Estate, the only home he’d ever known, and Elliot North, the only girl he ever loved, in search of a better life. But the journey was not an easy one. Featuring narrow escapes, thrilling boat races and at least one deadly volcanic wasteland.

Since I had no inclining what the book was about I was a little awestruck by the world it was building and even a little saddened by how little has changed in the world.  There are still oppressors and the oppressed in this world. slaves and slavers as well, how little has changed.

Poor Kai with his love for a Luddite who wouldn't leave her world behind for him. Kai who wanted more than what the world was trying to offer him.  I'm happy he left although his journey was risky.  It brought comfort and news to some (the people who lived under the miners the ones who helped him).

Since this is Kai's story we only hear his thoughts I can't wait to hear from Elliot and see why she choose to stay behind.  And I can't wait to know more about Kai's life after the encounter with the innovations.

I must say that before I went ahead and read the synopsis I had no idea what the book was about and was kinda lost with the talks about Reduced and Luddites and con. It was just so out of science fiction and very different from what I kinda expected.  It's good and a great intro to the series I'm now looking forward to reading For Darkness Shows the Stars.

Ok Ill go ahead and say I thought it took place on another planet, you know one of those where we discovered it and there was space travel.  That's all before I went back and read the synopsis and was like Ok no star cruisers here.* I mean though look at the names of the books*

Very good read, and engaging.

Synopsis:
When the sun goes down on their erotic encounter, who will be left standing? After an unsettled childhood, Sidney McCall has finally found a home in Graceville. This dream town comes with a dream boyfriend. Drew Buchanan is charming, romantic, completely devoted to her--and he cooks! Now if only the whole commitment thing didn't give her night sweats... Drew, a professional chef, wants nothing more than to give Sidney everything she's ever dreamed of, both in and out of bed. Even if it means serving up her most secret wish complete with a whipped-cream topping: a tryst with two men. His best friend Brody Nash is the missing ingredient, and the only man he trusts with the woman he loves. What starts out as a little harmless sexual play quickly boils over into something none of them expected. An emotional minefield that could forever change the course of their lives

Drew & Sidney met a year ago in his resturant she came up for desert and never left.  One year later it's their anniversay & Drew decides to give his anniversary present he's going to give Sidney her deepest fantasy: a menage with the one man he trusts; his best friend Brody.

The love scenes between Drew and Sidney are extremely steamy. And the love scenes between the three of them are amazing. Although I love happy menage endings this ending came as a surprise & I actually really liked this one. Due to the love story already established between them; for me the ending wasn't a disappointment.

I do like Brody as a character and would love to read his story.  I give this five stars all around, including erotica stars.

Happy Reading!!
