2018 Lemonade Syllabus Reading Challenge

Good Morning My loves

It's 2018 and we are sharing all our new year's goals and resolutions. For me I will be tackling the Lemonade Syllabus that was spawned by the Beyonce album of the same name.   As the video album dropped so many phenomenal women named and share the books, movies and music that made an appearance throughout the show.  There was so much African, African American, & Diaspora representation and we all wanted to know where we could find more.

So many of the books and movies listed on this syllabus have been already consumed by me in so many phases of my life.  I wanted to read the ones I hadn't had a chance to read yet.  I can't wait to take on this challenge.  As well as listen to the music and consume the other forms of media along with them.

The complete syllabus can be found here on Candice Benbow's website. She started putting together the syllabus then accepted contributions from fellow professors and so many other resources.  All of which she credited in the back of this syllabus.

I personally will be starting with the Inspirational & Self Care Section of the Syllabus, as I have many of the books on the list and can't wait to get to the rest.

Make sure to check out her phenomenal website and read her blog too.  I will be adding books I think belong with the challenge topics as I go throughout the year.  The goal isn't to complete the syllabus because there are over 250 pieces of work listed.  It's to learn and grow by using the different books shared and seek out more like it.

If you would like to join in please do share in the comments down below.  Each month I will share in my wrap up what I have managed to read, watch or listen to.  Make sure to share your journey in the comments section below as well!!
