2019 Blogging Wishlist

2019 Blogging Wishlist:

Well if wishes were horse poor men would ride. I'm sorry I've been dying to use that.  It's something my Grandmere' used to say when we would say I wish instead of saying as something we were working towards.  With that in mind here are a few of the concrete items I have on the books for 2019 for the blog.

Behind the Scenes:

1. Put up a banner for the Bewitching Bibliophile and my Aisha Oaktree Facebook profiles.  
2. Update the blog pages for 2019
3. Update Sidebar with the newest information for the blog
4. Add Instagram back to my Facebook profile
5. Link Twitter to Instagram
6. Update Branding for blog
7. Update the blog 
8. Clean out the blog email to make it easier to see information from publishers
9. Work on incorporating Pinterest more, because I absolutely love that app.  
10. Be more consistent in posting 2-3 times a week 12 posts per month

Upfront:

1. Sharing more opinion posts, not just reviews
2. Participating in more readathons and blog parties so I can recreate my blogging network
3. Comment, Comment, Comment on a few of my favorite blogger's pages, sharing the love because I know sometimes it can feel like we're shouting into the void, I want them to know we not only read but are interested in interacting with them.
4. READ MORE.  No need to explain this one right??
5. Host a few more giveaways, on the blog, on Instagram, and on facebook

If we're being fanciful and just sharing our absolute wishes?? Then I would really love to completely overhaul the blog design, but I'm not sure what I would like to change it to.  I love the look I have but there are a few features I would love to add on.  

I would also love for you guys to interact more so we can reconnect. But this isn't just a wish this is what I'm working towards. With the schedule with sharing my thoughts beyond just books.

2019 Events & Conventions Wishlist

Hi my loves

Another of the fun topics from the old challenge by Parajunkee was for us to review our Bookish events wishlist and share what events we wanted to go to.  Because my sister moved and I took a step back from the book blogging world for a little bit I''m actually out of the loop on some of the best conventions, author signings and bookish events. I do want to get back to going to events, author signings and I'm trying to decide it BEA is worth the effort anymore.  So many decisions.

I do know I'm going to be watching The Strand's website a bit more closely to see if they post any author signings I would love to be a part of. I love some awesome authors but at times they are the worst at promoting themselves and signings and I generally don't find out until it's too late to go.  (Note to authors, post often and post early please). 

I'm looking at ApollyCon in Washington DC.  that's in March I'm coordinating with my job for the time off and then it's me and DC.

In the Fall I'm going to the Supernatural Convention in Jersey.  Because Supernatural!!!

I'm also looking at doing BookNet Fest. which is just a small convention in Florida during September.  It's started by two of my favorite booktubers and I can't wait to see what the schedule will look like this year. 

RWA comes to New York during the summer and I think this year I'm making a real effort to go. 

Brooklyn Book Festival which takes place later in the year, I have to double check when it is so I can go.

My state has a huge library book sale in the mid-summer and I can't wait. last year I missed because I injured myself.  This year I'm making a list and a plan.  This is usually where I really get to grow my library.  I love the thrill of the hunt and of course getting books for dirt cheap ain't bad either. 

There are sure to be more events and of course, I'll want to go to them all but I'll just go the ones

January 2019 To Be Read

Welcome to 2019 my loves, it's another year and same yearly goal. Put in the reading work and achieve 150 books read.  Watching my pattern from the past few years, during the fall I don't get much if anything read, so I'm changing up the plan of attack. 

My goal this year is 150  books, if I break that down it comes out to 18 books per month, since the last four months of the year I barely read. With 4 to 5  books a week. Totally doable in my books, so as the proverb says, you can eat an elephant one bite at a time, so here are my first few bites:

2019 TBR How Long???

Welcome back to another day on the blog. Sooooo, about to be read piles.  This is inspired by a  series that Rachel over at The Parajunkee's View used to host at the start of the new year, to help bloggers kick-start for the new year as well as a way for us to blog-hop and meet new bloggers. Looking over some of the topics I thought it would be great to revisit and see what has changed and what game plan I have for the year 2019.

I made a series of videos in 2018 during the August VEDA about my TBR shelves. At last count, I was heading towards 1600 books unread on the shelves. I mean some shelves had 150 mass market books. I have 4 large bookcases unread and two medium size ones as well.  It's just a little bit daunting. I know for a fact I will NEVER have a zero tbr. I mean on kindle I have something close to 2000 ebooks.

However, because I don't get paid to read books (oh gawd why isn't that a job?/) I'm only saying that this year I'm aiming for 150 by Dec 31, 2019.  How I'm going to pick them?? Who knows but I have a few specifics I want to get in. Check that list out here Beyond that?? Whatever catches my fancy.

Goals & Objectives For the Year 2019

Welcome to the New Year my loves

It's a fresh slate and a chance to make new goals and objectives.

After reviewing my 2018 year, as well as the last few years, here on booktube and the blog I have come to accept that during the fall and winter I'm not much of a reader, this seems to be the time I choose to catch up on tv shows that I love but haven't watched all year. So with that in mind, I've decided to change my reading strategy and objectives.  With the game plan now being to front-load the year and relax during the winter and fall and do all the fun things I love to do especially my crocheting then.

For the new year, I am setting my goal to 150 books. Yes I know that's totally achievable for me since I read over a 100 books a year, and I know I just said that I'm losing four months of reading however this leaves me with 19 books a month as a goal and since I generally hit that during my awesome reading months I'm good.

For the Year I would like to finish a few series that I have on the shelf but after that, I wish to read whatever I feel like. Of course, there are the Perpetual Challenges I will be doing again this year.

Brenda Jackson Challenge reading any of the 40 of the books from her.

Nora Roberts Challenge I wish to read any of the 79 books from her and clean up my shelves a little at a time.

Christine Feehan Challenge, I also need to pick up on the five series on the shelves. I'm now completely caught up on two of the 7 series she writes and I can't wait to catch up more.

BlackOut Challenge for this I also which to read all of the authors of color from the shelves. Along with this I plan to complete 2 pages from the Lemonade Syllabus.

I also purchased all the books in the 50 states of the Men Made in America Romance.  I plan to read at least 25 of them for the year.

I'm also adding in my Freshman Series books as well, and I wish to read 20 books.

I also plan to only read books I own from my shelves either kindle or physical books as I have some series where I have the first or third books in ebook and the rest in physical form.   I plan to read 100% my own shelves in 2019.

With the new year I'm pre-prepping as many posts as possible so I can keep posting here since I find this relaxing as well. I'm hoping to keep to a three times a week posting schedule, more when I have breaks and time.  For the booktube I am posting on Mondays and Fridays.  If you have any tips or tricks for keeping up with posting while life gets busy please do share in the comments down below. Welcome to 2016. Isn't it crazy?? It's a whole other year.  I can't wait to see what is in store for us and what good reads the world will be sharing with us.  Here are a few of the books I'm looking forward to reading.

Don't laugh it wasn't until I was loading up this image that I noticed that their is a man's face on the cover.  I can't wait to read this, it's going to be awesome because I am finally caught up on this series.

Elite Mercedes Lackey 09/06/16
Book two on the series and I can't wait. Mercedes has always been my favorite author's from childhood.  I can't wait until I can get into this one.

Nicole's work is always a good read and I can't wait t get into it.    This one sounds pretty good as well, I can't wait to dive in and get the goods on this story.

Book 4 in the Off Campus series that follows the hockey team and I can't wait to dive right in and enjoy.  It's also the final book in the series, I'm not sure how I'm going handle letting these guys and their girls go.

BB New Year's Post: Blogging Wishlist of 2014

Oh no where did the time go?? It's the last day of our blogging party; make sure to show some serious love to the participating bloggers today and of course to our wonderful host Parajunkee.

Yep, it's the last day, and one of my favorite topics, what is on my blogging wishlist. I think the easiest answer would be what isn't. In no particular order:

• I want an awesome blog design that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I like this one though so I'm not sure if I want to change it yet.
• I want followers who are interactive and fun
• I want to be able to do more vlogs
• Publish amazing reviews
• Be invited to Harlequin Headquarters just so I can breathe in the books
• Meet John Green and share with him how much TFIOS captures what it's like to live with a really sh*t diagnosis. Thank him for the brilliance he wrote;  Then kick him for that ending *sobs* *sobs so more*
• Go back to the Strand bookstore and explore every and I mean every nook and cranny. I just might go wild, maybe purchase some books. !!
• Create a brand for myself that others will know to look for adult and erotica/romance reviews here.
• Clean up my Netgalley review lists.
• Clean up my TBR Pile (yeah that's not really happening but a girl can dream)
• Cross post to all my Library Thing, Goodreads and Amazon links
• Be invited to join Amazon Vine ( hey she said wish it doesn't have to be grounded in reality)
• Be totally Brilliant at BEA this year so more publicists will want to work with me and then belows wish will come true. 
• Get more physical books instead of ebooks (actually grow the tener cojones to request physical books instead of just ebooks) 
• Find a way to write my reviews, read the books, post, live a real life, and read without something falling through the cracks. ( you see I put read on there twice right, yeah I want to read lots of books). 

There are way more things, but these are the ones I really want to happen in 2014. Some I can work towards, some will never happen this year, but at least it's a goal right?? Right??
