I picked this up on a whim. I knew nothing about it other than it's by Dinah and I love her writing. I started reading and I was hooked. The very beginning I was screaming inside for them to use the solution we now know works and often use, I was so hooked the second I realized the nurse was going to do it and I just fell into this book. Time flew and I wasn't even aware of it. I was totally addicted and I didn't want this to end.
This was clearly written at a different time due to lack of cellphones however that doesn't detract from the overall story. This is a story of revenge and justice and such a good love story. I couldn't stop reading, I cried a few times in this book with the characters and I must say I love Angie so much she is so wise and wonderful to her family and those in her life. Just amazing. I can't imagine what it is like to lose the other half of your soul but to still have to keep going.
Told in alternating perspectives, from the villain to the people surrounding them and of course the main characters we get an amazing story about one man's need to know the truth and a woman's desire to find her place even while surrounded by family.
Moving quickly; the unfolding of the motivation of the killer and all the action moves so well. I loved how both men knew without a doubt that Gracie was a woman caught up in something she didn't even understand. I was so saddened for the conclusion because to be family and put in that position all because one person was too greedy and too unhinged.
It's good, I loved that the romance was good and went within characters behaviour, I loved how neither of them were suddenly blind or stupid, they moved well together and separately. This story unfolded with all the mystery there with parts being revealed to us then to the characters, and as each piece was found out it just built the tension. Really well written, addictive and a fast read.
Callan Lyons is a genetic experiment. One of six fighting for freedom and the survival of their Pride. Merinus Tyler is the reporter who will tempt him, draw him, until the fury of the "mating frenzy" locks them into a battle of sexual heat there is no escape from.
Deception, blood, and the evil Genetics Council are hot on their trail. Callan will use his strength to try and save them both...and do all in his power to keep his woman in the process.
With the launch of this book so begins the Breed Saga. Callan, a man on the run who makes the decision he does only because he doesn't wish his fate on his mate. The story very much reads like it's been going on for a hile and we're only just peeking in. We get introduced to a few of the future stories and because I've read ahead a few books I know some of the plot points that are being setup already. I still felt the need to marathon through the book and the others that came right after.
I loved how Callan was still clueless even though he's been at this for a while. Some things in this life were still very new to him, so he discovers them while we do. I loved the Science Fiction aspect and the question of what makes us human.
As the story unfolded and Meri was exposed to just ho wild the Counsel could be it made you hurt for the team. Reading what was done to them, how the were 'raised' knowing that in normal society monsters prey on the weak, just imagining knowing there are no consequences if you hurt the weak and vulnerable?? it gave them free rein and I had to take mental health breaks because I wanted to rage.
I loved that Meri's family was close knit and strong and that her family would do whatever needed to back and protect her.
This is a great beginning to the story and made me want to read more. Even though this was a strong erotica, the back story being set up and the mystery were still strong. The building of the wold and the unexpected betrayal are just so well written.
I highly recommend, however please be warned even though it's only briefly mentioned the entire series does discuss abuse to women, men, children and can be at times graphic.

We are sharing all the goodies that I got at the 57th Annual Library Book Sale in Southport CT. I work just around the street from this library and I've been hyping this library book sale to everyone I know. I love the sale and I know it benefits so many so I try to do my part.
Here are the goodies I hauled today, my plan was simple I went in with a general list of authors I wanted to grab if I saw their work and I knew which of their books I was missing because of my book list of all the backlog catalogs I want.

Then because my budget had some room in it I got a few books from Amazon:
I got all three books from the DIMILY series, I read this series a few months ago and I absolutely fell in love with the characters and their stories and the truths they shared. I needed the have them on my shelves as well (I got two as ebook arcs & purchased the 3rd as a ebook as well).
I also picked up a non fiction book called the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. So many people I know have been talking about this and I'm trying to understand what is going on so I snagged a copy for myself.
Then I snagged a few ebooks over the past few weeks as well. Including:
Honor Bound by Joey W Hill. I read several of the books in this series and I realized I was missing this one and I'm reading it right now and it's soooo good so far.

My goal for this year was 365 books. So far I've been doing pretty good considering some of the slumps I've been in. This month the reading urge came late and I finished quite a few books in that short time.
I actually also COMPLETED one of my challenges for the year. I finished the BREED challenge. I'm completely caught up to the series, now I'm only waiting for the newest book in 2018

This is the third book in the series and it advances the story and shows us more of the world that we got in book two. I loved the story of Bren and Six blooming and learning what it means to become a couple instead of two broken individuals. I'm glad we're getting to the see the fall out from events from book two and the coming together of the gang to help rebuild Sector Three. I'm sure we're going to get some awesome stories from that sector especially if it helps build the gang up more. I'm glad the cleanup is happening .
I loved that Six was strong, had a good idea of who she was before she became stuck on the wrong man. She talked about how she went from that to the shadow she as when she first came to the Sector. Even though she was learning to trust again she still kept some of who she was back because she had learnt the hard lessons and wanted to make sure she wasn't making the same mistake twice. I loved the comparison between her and Lex and how she's learning to move with it, how they differ and how their choices in Kings made a difference in their outcomes.
It took a while for Six to grow on me, but as the story progressed she did, *and I'm just now understanding that this could be how the author wanted it to go, because as Six grew as a person, she opened up more making her someone you could relate to instead of being too hidden that you didn't know her at all*. She as a bit different that the other women in the sector, both in where she started and how she ended up in Four. She also had layers none of us could guess at until she began to let us in and share more secrets as she learned to trust not just Bren but the women of the sector and Dallas as well. Six has had to change, she's gone from being strong and woman with a reputation strong enough to inspire a leader to want to join together, and yet we know it went bad instead of making her another Lex. She'd been beaten down and is learnig how to trust her own instincts, her own feelings and once again moving back into her strength and standing on her own feet.
I loved that like Lex she pushed boundaries for the the gang, while learning what she would or wouldn't accept from herself or her leaders. She learned how to like the simple things again and how to explore with Bren and I loved the joining of these two.
Bren had his own complicated reasons for ending up in the Sectors and particularly with Dallas. Some of these reasons led to him having several dumb moments. In his own way he had been just as abused as Six. It came in extremely different way , yet similar in it's outcomes. Bren's motivations and reasons played true to his character we had been introduced to,e ven as he grew and learned ot let go of some of them, they still held sway even though he thought he was done with them.
I found that I was both happy about the progression of the story and the over arcing story and saddened about how dumb the men could and would be. That stupidness would get tempered really quickly because they learnt their women weren't afraid to walk away or hold them accountable for their actions, and that Dallas owned up to his mistake and hopefully learned from it.
Because this is a post apocalyptic world, Kit doesn't really include cities or landmarks beyond naming Eden, so you can imagine it anywhere that this could work and that is kind of throwing me off, because I'm not sure where to land it so that the climate, the landscape, the wildlife would work in this world. It's making it weird and strange to me because I can't imagine the fauna the outdoors or the climate, but at the same time these things don't really matter to the story because those are part of the life outside the sectors. Which I hope we get to explore soon.
I love the story for the open accepting exploration of sexuality, and sensuality. I'm glad they knew their own boundaries and were willing to explore where they ended and began. I'm glad that Six learnt that the gang isn't just about being someone's property, and that it truly is about everyone and not just what works for Dallas.
I loved reading about the gang's growth and seeing old characters again. This series is very sex positive, and extremely erotic.

This is the basic list, and I will add on more as I go. If you can think of one I should read first definetly let me know.
I have been wanting to read this for a while. i marathoned the series a few years ago and told myself I didn't need the novellas, and nope I really need the novellas for my own peace of mind, so I finally treated myself with a copy recently. I'm always happy with this series so I'm excited to share my thoughts on each of the novellas enclosed.
There are several stories, each of them building the world that Kate falls into and giving us the back story of each of the characters. Had I read this while reading the series, I might have felt differently about certain events. I still don't accept the villain's reasons for doing what was done, in fact when you read this and see how long they have been doing damage to others you realize the villain is just as trash as the person who turned them so.
By time these stories ended Henry/ Hades was one of the few Gods left who hadn't done anything worth me hating them for. Each of the Gods were just a petty, childish, churlish and dumb as their origin stories make them out to be. I get that they are just as fallible as we humans are but y'all are supposed to be better, they really made me angry as I read them especially Zeus, I was never a fan of this God and this origin story here doesn't paint him any better, he's just a terrible and trashy as his father.
I vented at this book, demanding that certain characters talk, just communicate however I saw what others weren't willing to see and what they hadn't seen well before they did. There is a moment in the later stories where Henry almost catches on but he refuses to see it as well. And when we see how hard everyone starts to work just to get Henry to hang on. I'm so annoyed at the villain for doing to him what they had done.
I loved the story that told us why they gained modern names and why they had to change, I mean I got that well before they did and I was not at all surprised but it did make me sad the way it ended. I did love the little story and how something so small could make a difference in the perspective of even a God. It's got to suck watching the world pass by and you never change. That way leads to madness if you ask me.
I'm still hoping that Aimee does a series based on the ending from the final book and we get to visit these characters all again. Hopefully they grew somewhat. having read this I re-read the final book and it just made so much more sense now, and I'm still mad a the depth of the betrayal. You can't hurt me this deeply then call it love. I know I'm being vague on each of the stories but that's because each of the them builds the world and their actions here help to lay the foundation for the other books in the series, discussing too much might spoil something.

It's my goal to read more books from my shelves this year than from any other source *I'm trying not to purchase but it isn't always working**. With that goal in mind, I'm looking at the following series that need to be checked off the TBR Pile soon.
Thunder Roads series by Katie McGarry. I'm kinda scared to catch up because I see nothing listed as coming soon and I'm terrified of having no more awesome books from Katie on my shelves, but I kinda also want to dive back into the world and explore.
The Submissive Series by Tara Sue Me. I thought this series was a trilogy and that it was done, however they have added on quite a few new books and I desperately need to catch up. I mean since I own them all and everything...
Nettle King by Katherine Harbour. I raved about this series once I heard about Thorn Jack even before I actually read it. It was my must get book at BEA a few years ago and I was so damn glad I did get it because it was awesome and totally worth my hype. I haven't heard anything about new books coming out and I'm terrified to finish this and have nothing else left to read by Katherine, but I need to read the rest like now.
Julie Garwood's Buchanan-Renard crime fighting romantic suspense series. I have read from book18 forward and I'm current with the most recent book being in my shopping cart, but I want to read books 1-18 especially because I have most of them on my shelves so yeah about that...
Simone Elkeles's Perfect Chemistry Series. Read the first book, started the second and moved onto another read and forgot to come back to this. I wanted to be in the mood for young adult and now that it's spring I will definitely be enjoying this one.
Wicked Lovers series by Shayla Black, I have most of these books stacked on my shelves. I have read the erotica stories featuring my favorite kinds of romance Polyamory/multiple partners and kinda skipped the "normal" ones. But I want to catch up and be able to pick up that latest ones but I made myself a bargain that I have to finish the ones I own first.
This next one is going to shock you because I've said I was going to finish this about a year maybe two ago and yet still... Rogue by Gina Damico. I'm all about hanging on to series for as long as possible. I don't want this to end but at the same time I want to learn everything that is happening in the story and I want to know how it ends. Good Gods what a quandary.
And of course my two perpetual reading authors that I need to catch up on are In Death series by JD Robb and The Game series by Christine Feehan.

In the United States April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it.
Since 2001, NSVRC supports SAAM organizers with resources, tools, and training. You can ask us questions about sexual violence, prevention, or planning a campaign.
Now we all should be discerning for ourselves our ideas about consent and what that means, discussing it, reasearching, learning new thoughts and ideas while also honoring the *good*ideas we have. One of the ways in which we can teach about life and the things that affects it is through books (I mean we all know that, it's why we love reading)
Recommendations for Books:
My favourite resource for book recommendations dealing with Sex, Consent and Sexual Assault is The Teen Librarian Toolbox. This blog is so informative, well organized and has clear cut labels and wonderful discussions of how to talk to teens about sex, and consent, as well as always sharing great book recommendations.
My favorite fiction books dealing with consent that I have read in the last few years are: ( Ihave reviews linked on each book)
Non Fiction Books: These I haven't read, but they are on the TBR Pile they come highly recommend by just about everybody who has read them and especially by Book Riot (who have several lists with these books on the,)

A few years ago the concept of consent as being discussed all over Youtube and book tube and I as so proud to see some of my favorites taking the time to talk about consent and push the envelope on discussing what was acceptable and what wasn't I'm sure if you look you can find a ton of videos about it. But here are my fave videos about what consent is and what it isn't.
One of my favorite Youtubers is a young man who is hopefully going to continue shining for the next few years Nathan Zed *who was 17 at the times of this video* always has something good to say from the time he called Nash Grier out (to be honest I still don't know who Nash is and I'm not invested enough after seeing the reaction videos to him to find out) Nash Grier Rant to his video calling out youtubers who were accused of being rapist and their bad behaviors.
If you type in Consent in the Youtube search bar the following lists come up, I can't vouch for all the videos but a few of them are really good.
I recently sobbed my way through the Netflix original Audrie & Daisy. This made me furious, it made me so sad and so damn tired. We are failing our kids so badly in every way when these stories come out and then no one is punished. We need change and we need justice.
You can read survivor's stories on campus like the Breaking Out Campaign run by students on the Duke University campus.

Having complete close to 20 books last month, I'm sure, with knowing that I have a few days off in the next month; I can definetly knock these all off the TBR Pile.
