Jack's story which is the second one starts off in the UK and has quite a bit of legend & magic with it, causing the heroine to have to go after him when he leaves her historic home with a piece of her legacy.

Jardin goes after Melinda as he believes her to be the woman who set him up. Melinda has spent her whole life being the good daughter hoping that by doing so she will win her parents affections. It hasn't worked in all these years but habits are hard to break and when faced with serious consequences she doesn't know who she can turn to.

Cowboy & The Captive 3.5 Stars

This is extremely erotic, this was also very soap opera like.  Once you get moving you were sucked in. It moved pretty quickly I laughed pretty loudly as I worked my way through it.  I really loved that despite her fear Melinda challenged Jardin when she needed to.

Another of the reasons I loved this story had to do with the friends from other stories that made appearances in the story as well. There were moments when the story took turns I wasn't happy with including when Jardin threatened her not too long after kidnapping her. Also, their first few minutes of conversation after she woke, like bruh?!! WTF, how do you greet someone like that.  However, once consent and the boundaries were negotiated??!!! Then the story really flowed.

I also was hesitant about his mode of distraction. I'm freaking out from a nightmare and this is how you comfort me?? Also, Melinda was way too nice because no effing way was I going to be doing any of that shyt even if you are my twin sister.  You lost your damn mind. And her parents have some goddarn nerve asking that of her, how did you expect her twin to grow or learn??

At the end of this, I understand why her brother set this up, but he also took a big risk with her life.  Considering how great her brother is I would love to see his story. I believe it would round this out nicely.

Cowboy & The Theif 4 Stars

This story was very funny, and fun along with being very fast paced.  I really enjoyed the touch of mystery and magic. I really enjoyed the legend part of the story as this becomes the basis for why Angel must become the thief.  These two were on fire and I loved how they battled each other. This one really focused in on just these two characters, rarely was another seen. They certainly took up a lot of time. I loved how they battled and that she didn't make it easy on him. 

Angel knew her limits and when faced with being kicked over the edge tried to be sane, until he made the same moves with her. I loved it. It showed how faith in a thing matters just as much as love does. 

While I understand why the men felt the way they did about almost dying, revenge only works if you get the right person.  I wanted to yell at Jardin several times as he was willing to believe everyone else but Melinda. The stories were very erotic and unfolded quickly with each having their own little mysteries along the way. I enjoyed the reads and would recommend.

I have to say I got this purely on the cover and the author's name. Went into this completely blind and I'm so glad I did, Now having just caught up on the Breed series by Lora I was expecting some paranormal but nope no Breeds here this is a separate series that is a spin-off of the Elite Ops series which I do own and plan to read.  Having no idea what I was in for I still fell in love with the characters and was invested in their story unfolding until the last secret was unveiled and the last orgasm had.

Lora knows how to write the heck out of an opening scene, this is the second book I've read by her this month with a memorable and wild beginning scene.  She starts them off as if the world in the story was going on already and we just happen to tune in to see the rest of it.   I was totally invested and immersed in the story that unfolded.

We first meet Amara when a mission went south and Riordan shows up to clean up the mess, having a history she tries to warn him that this was a lot bigger than he thought it was. From there the story just went even wilder as each part of the plot was revealed.

Fast forward a year post failed mission and we find Amara on the hunt for the man in her dreams, she knows that the people in her life are lying to her by omission and she's on a mission to find out what the secrets were.  Because despite having lost her memory of the past year including the mission that almost claimed her life she's still in danger and she knows this mystery man will help her.   For his part, Riordan was hurt in that mission and he's finally on the road to recovery, finding the woman who almost cost him so much on his doorstep is an unwelcome surprise, one he's going to take full advantage of.

I absolutely enjoyed the repartee between these two because my gawd they had chemistry. They were so tuned to each other and it was erotic and hot as hell.   I loved them when they argued and pushed each other when they struggled not to give into the attraction between them, as they worked to figure out who was out to hurt Amara and why.  Amara wasn't sure ho her enemies were supposed to be but her father had created more than enemies for them both with his criminal enterprise and Amara was struggling to believe the man she loved as her Father wasn't as horrible as the rest of the world kept saying.

The action was fast-paced, everything flowed quickly especially because the main characters weren't meeting for the first time.  From the unfolding secrets, we learn more about both Amara and her father, his friends and what drove him to become the man he was.  I enjoyed the secondary characters as well and can't wait to see which of them will be getting stories in this series.  Riordian's family and several of the characters from the Elite Ops make an appearance and I'm sure if I had read that series first this would have made this even better to see them. I am extremely excited to see the next mission that this group will be involved in.  I can't wait to see what happens to Amara's dad, and to her friends, cousins and Riordian's family.  I absolutely loved his Grandfather, because that man was both a source of wisdom & kept Riordan on his toes.

I loved how as the story flowed and more secrets came out, it challenged the way each character viewed the situation especially Amara who is struggling to know who to trust.  Unlike before Riordan refuses to be pushed into a simple box, he's here to claim what is his, not just his revenge for the danger Amara had been placed in but his rightful place by her side.  I loved every second of it.I was sucked into the story and read it really quickly and felt the need to get back into it when I had to be away. It was awesome and I highly recommend.

That ending??Omigawd say what?? I can't wait for the next book.  I loved this story because finally e got back to some of the first sets of Breeds, they are finally in the stories again.  This was the story of the twin to our monster and I'm so glad to be here for it because finally someone who can take on Jonas.  This story continued out journey through the reservation with the Navajo tribal leaders and their secrets, as the third and final member of the hidden group of run aways is revealed. 

Judd as a Breed is deeply recessed, so much so that he doesn't believe he'll find a mate.  When presented with his mate he's not sure what he's supposed to do.  This story pivots off the story before showcasing more branches of the Breeds, more characters and an ever deepening plot against the Breeds.  Judd as a recessed Breed is missing many of the traits that would mark him as a Breed, however now that his brother is back in his life the recessed genes are coming back.  They certainly come out of hiding when his mate hands in her resignation from their joint task force and goes her own way, Judd is at first certain she's kidding but when weeks pass by and she doesn't return he's now hell bent of finding a way back to her. 

Despite the changes that have taken place,  so many still plot against the Breeds and their allies and they still go after the ones they see as most vulnerable.  I love the depth of the story and the entrenching of the Breeds on the tribal lands.  I love that we're getting more from the tribes and their understanding of what happened to their own and have the returning sons and daughters of the missing. 

This story jerked your emotions right from the get go because Chelsea is one hell of a woman, she's trained well and she takes on a contingent of Coyotes and kicks butt in the process.  Her reason for doing so though will definitely make you want to cry.  her family life, her cousin who was once married to Judd give Chelsea pause, she doesn't wish to be seen as going after her cousin's husband (even though her cousin is dead).  It always surprised me how much hate and hurt can fill someone so that they scar people even when they aren't around anymore.  I absolutely loved the developing love story, I understand why it took so long for them to come together especially because of their past.  I loved seeing the secondary characters especially Cassie, Gideon's always fun to read because crazy knows no bounds with this one. 

I love the love story and I loved how much of the world we got to see, how much growth that has happened and of course how much more will be happening.  I want to see  so many more stories coming from the world.    There are characters and stories being shared like we've always seen them, but they haven't had a story yet.  I feel like a book was supposed to come out that didn't because this one alpha come out of nowhere. I'm intrigued by his story though because we've been getting in it from the books as we go along instead of him getting his own novella.   

Next books is Cassie's and I want to predict her mate as Dog but Lora don't care about our feelings so Goddess only knows who it's going to be.

This has been the story we have been building up to for a while, Gideon/Graeme was seen in several novels as he was one of the Breeds missing that night in Window Roch Arizona.  He's a twin, a rare Bengal Breed who is also fully Primal and he's the genius who challenged Jonas and really made Jonas work for his solution. 

I enjoyed reading their motivations I truly loved Cat/Claire and felt so empathetic towards her, she struggled for so long. In this one we get the background story on Cat/Claire and Gideon. We learn how they all come to be in Arizona and the deepening connection the Breeds have to the Navajo Nation. For me the push and pull between Cat/ Claire and Gideon/ Graeme as they learned to navigate being ho they should be in public and ho they truly are on the inside was fun to read.  Gideon was the Primal side of Graeme he was the 'monster' hunting int he desert and ending the enemies who were a risk to his mate.  He was also hunting said mate as he made himself leave her behind on that fateful night several years ago. 

We learned several things that are opening up new lines of characters, stories and of course even more about the Genetics Council and the newest Breeds they have been creating.  Once again we have the characters from several books ago who still haven't had any female characters, nor have they had any story lines show back up, they have been working in the back ground apparently even though they haven't been seen in any of the bocks.  We learned also to never underestimate the Elders from the reservation, so much is going on under the surface that not even all the Nation's council members are aware of this is both good and bad.  And the Breeds certainly have no idea just how far these men will go to hang onto the children they loved. 

There are several parts of this book that made me laugh and many more that I enjoyed.  Some of my personal favorites are when Amber tells on Jonas, when Graeme comes face to face with Killian and when Cat defies him leading to him meeting Killian. There are so many defining moments for the characters as well. As the past is unravelled and we learn why Gideon became a monster, and why they had to hide, it hurts to realize even those that claim to be on the side of good aren't always as good as they should be. 

While reading this book, like most of the books in this series, my emotions were all over the place, but I felt so much empathy for Cat, especially because she never felt right in her new home.  Her sense of deep loss which drove her to make her decisions, and then the hiding of the deepest part of who she was really impacted her.  I loved the conversations she would have with her host and the way the host was still very much her own character. 

I feel like I'm always saying that the end isn't predictable and it isn't I mean we know the main couple is going to get together, that's the major plot point but there are so many more minor that later turn out to not be so minor subplots going on that pull you in and keep you intrigued.  I did feel like the Elders are being way too deceptive in their dealings with the Breeds, I understand why they feel they have to be that way but at the same time it creates a clear divide one that's going to come to a head at some point and it's not going to be pretty. 

There are a few subplots that I hope she pulls on and gives us the full stories in their own books eventually.  I do understand that according to rumors that Cassie's book will be the finale, and that just doesn't seem fair, there are so many more stories that aren't complete.

One of the biggest books in the series and it had so much packed in there. We are still on the Nation's territory still hunting the four that disappeared from the labs that could help save Amber.  The mission is becoming even more critical as things seem to be speeding up for Amber, which is of course pushing Jonas & Rachel to further extremes.

Several times throughout this novel I got very frustrated with both sides of the Nation and the Breeds, if they would simply lay their cards on the table and stop trying to out manipulate each other they would get so much more work done. Especially because they are both on the same side, like stop the pissing contest and work on saving the child.  Jonas now knows some of the secrets of the Council and some of the Nation's secrets as well, the monster he is hunting is cunning, and Jonas needs him anyway he can get him to save Amber.

We get one hell of a emotional story, from the very beginning Lora came for our feels and she never let it go until the end.  This was one hell of roller coaster ride.  First we meet Gypsy on the worst day of her life, she's been kidnapped, is terrified and is facing worse at the hands of the Coyotes.  The next few pages break your heart for Gypsy especially because rescue comes only minutes later, in the form of Jonas and his men which include Rule.  Rule's Lion recognizes that Gypsy will be his mate, and proceeds to lose it on her enemies.  Rule of course as a man doesn't acknowledge this because he has only three rules that he lives by and one of the major ones is to avoid finding a mate.

I really enjoyed the story that unravels, as Gypsy grows up from that night to the outside world she became a party girl who was feckless and a drifter, but in reality she continued her brother's work.  her relationship with her parents was pretty bad because like Gypsy they blamed her for Mark's death.  However like most things in this book it actually goes deeper than that.  As the story progresses we get so many clues about how much deeper, about who the man her brother was and what he would have wanted for Gypsy.  I loved that even in his final moments Mark gave her the answers she would need later on.  Gypsy wasn't able to solve it because she stayed away from thinking about that night, she refused to think about what she lost and what her desire to have one teenage rebellion cost them all.

I loved watching the story develop, especially because we got so much going on, several subplots were pulled on in this one.  Dane is back in town raising hell like always, several of the couples form other stories make an appearance, Dog is here once again making you wonder where his loyalties lie.  Rule and Lawe talk about their past, we see them lose something as brothers but gain so much more as mates.  We really learn what happened in the labs with Rule's mother and see that even then how much betrayal took place.

Small subplots including Amber's major problem is solved and we get the setup for a few more books.  I can't wait until we get Dane's book, I both pity the woman stuck with him and hope like hell she will kick him in gear.  I will be honest and say that as much as I love the erotica aspect of the books I have begun to skim the sex scenes past the first few getting together ones.  It all begins to repeat after a while and after 29 books I'm pretty sure we know how Breed mating works.  Of course it wouldn't be a Breed story if we didn't have traitors in the midst, the Genetics council still doing their dirty work and of course the Unknown's manipulation added to the mix as well.

One of the things I will say I really liked is the separation of man and Breed, in this one the Lion made itself well known and like several others have had to, take care of the mate when the human is too stupid to step out of mother nature's way. An enjoyable read, definitely worth the effort especially because we got to see the set up for Graeme/Gideon's story and I can't wait to see what happens next for the Breeds.

And of course the bonus "news" story in the end?? I cackled.  Great way to give a quick recap and update.

Back to the desert and the Navajo Nation we go. this book follows closely on Lawe's Justice, with us still hunting the three missing children and trying to find them before Council Coyotes, and the monster in the desert does.  With that e have Stygian assigned to working with the Navajo council's people and he is assigned to Liza who is a bit more than she appears.

From there we get one heck of a ride trying to find the hidden children, the Navajo council keeps their secrets close to their chests, traitors abound, and Council Coyotes make themselves known.  Liza isn't just a secretary and we learn that in the first five pages of the book, as it literally picks up in a scene from Lawe's Justice.  She's actually pretty funny, and itty, sarcastic as hell a real fun character to read.  Since the Breeds have learned what Mating Heat is so many of them are loking forward to it and a fe fear it, Stygian was looking forward to it, so he was really good to his mate. I loved that he was Alpha without being domineering even though at times he had his moments of thinking about being such, he always put his mate's well being first. 

The major secrets the Nation has been hiding are starting to unravel and with them a traitor and his part in the destruction of the Tribes is revealed.  We see Jonas, Rachel and of course Cassie again, as they work as fast as they can to unravel the mystery of what is happening to Amber.  Major plot points are laid out for the following books with characters being set up and the big reveal being worked on.  With this one character's revelation we get one hell of a story, and yet we still have the mystery of why those girls where out in the desert that night.

I really enjoyed reading Liza and Stygian's story as they were like many of the couples misfits who weren't sure where they fit.  Liza especially had been hoping this was her year, to stretch to go beyond here she fit to be more, and some how it became the year of the Breeds. 

This one lays down some serious ground work for the books coming up with major characters being hinted at and the overall story being moved forward. I can't discuss more without spoiling the bigger story, but just know this one was actually a fun, wild ride and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  For me the second half of the book was the best once we had the major reveal it just flew by and we got serious action happening.

This is another of the books that really kicks your heart in.  It's very well written.  Diane and Lawe are my favorite characters because they both don't fit in anywhere, but they're still striving to protect those around them even if they aren't welcomed by those they protect.  Once again we are back in the Navajo reservation and the desert, and back with our fun characters from before.

So many of our favorite characters are back and we get to see them even more fleshed out.  We see Jonas, Rachel, Amber, Graeme & the brothers Rule & Lawe.   The overall mystery of the Reservation, the hidden ones the tribe are hiding, the hunt for the beast that is taunting the reservation and the many different enemies hidden amongst friends.  I'm going to say that I feel like there is a whole book missing from the series, there are characters that have been recently introduced as if they were people we knew already, whole branches of packs that weren't mentioned before that I recall and some of these I would have definitely recalled.  I've been feeling like that for a few books now, especially after a few of the novellas. In all honesty I've been feeling like that since the first few books. I get that this is a world that has moving parts and we're only seeing snippets of it yet some of these characters feel new; even if they don't feel new to the men and women they are interacting with.

There are story threads that are being given without being fully fleshed out, we get snippets from other stories and no future books for those characters in site, I'm hooked on small snippets given about the different wolves and I can't wait until we get more information from them.  These next few books blow open a section of the Breed community not previously seen, and we are beginning to see how long this rescue mission has been running even before Callan came forward over 15 years ago.

Lawe & his twin were in some of the most brutal labs, this is the lab were even the Coyotes weren't the worst the men and women have seen.  Raised to know that if they reacted in anyway that the scientists didn't like their weaker smaller litter mates would pay the price. Lawe learned to lock it all down.  Once he's been rescued Lawe has done everything to aide the cause, he's Jonas' right hand man along with Rule and they all of course work with Cassie.  In this one we begin to see just how tightly closeted Cassie's world is, with an everyday interaction becoming something that could risk her family her friends and of course her bodyguards, she's on lock down at all times.  We really begin to see how lonely within the crowd she is.  And Lawe does his level best to indulge her as far as he can.  This is how we begin to see how great a guy he really is.

Some of my favorite scenes happen when, Lawe, Rule, Jonas, and the Navajo Council are in the same room trying their level best to out manipulate each other, while demanding information that would aide them all.  At times within the novel I despised Lawe's insistence that his mate wouldn't be a warrior or a woman who  could fight, his instance on that would stab at his mate's insecurities about her femininity and make her feel even worse and I wanted to drop kick him across the room.

Lawe's blindness at seeing how perfect she was for him, his insistence on coddling her like she wasn't as battle ready as he was, made her feel like less than a mate and called into question her abilities in front of the men she commanded.  Yet he couldn't see it because e kept looking for something other that what he truly wanted.  I loved Rule because unlike Lawe he saw what a treasure Diane was and even went so far as to offer to trade their mates; since as twins it would be possible to imprint of the mate.  Rule and Jonas also played a big role in kicking Lawe into gear and making him open his eyes.
There are a lot of major plot threads being pulled into this book, several more couples being lined up, the world of the Navajo Council is being revealed slowly, betrayals are being aired, traitors on all sides being found, and battles waging.  This was still a major character driven book. Diane's need to learn to be a mate, to be a better sister to Rachel made her more vulnerable and made you feel for her and love her so much.  Diane's trying to find where she fits in this new world, her sister who always needed her now has someone who would burn the world for her and no longer needs Diane, her men are questioning her competency and her loyalty to them because she wants to be here instead of out there making them the big dollars.  Where does she fit??

Lawe is also struggling, he's always had his brother and now with Diane he's making changes that he's not sure he's ready for.  He's also looking for the people responsible for what happened to him and his brother.  He's mad that the gamble for help that he always was promised would be there never came and when the betrayal is revealed, how will it rock his world.

I really loved where this story went and how the couple came together.  I can't wait to get the other books in my hands and just read them all.  This one really kicked up the action, and not just for the Breeds.

The story was originally a part of an anthology and the first story is about Isabella & Malachi.  Isabella out at the bar with her girlfriends when she spots Malachi a Coyote breed, and feeling the attraction and being very bold she decided to go flirt.  Knowing that one should never dare a Coyote when their back and forth pushes her she does and from there we get an awesome story.

Isabella's story bridges the gap between Navarro's book and Lawe's book.  We get the beginning of the setup on the Navajo reservation and the beginning of the introduction to the Council there.  Isabella works for the Council there and she is related to so many of the important members that it makes meeting and dating men on the reservation hard.  When she thought she had met a great one he turned out to be a jackass of the highest order.  Not wanting to tell her family of how badly her love life had veered of the straight and narrow she struggles with trusting men and her meeting with Malachi helps to make her start to feel good again.

Small, impactful, a good way to bridge into the reservation.  I loved the knowledge gained and how Malachi embraced finding his mate.  I love the bit of intrigue we begin to see that is being shared.  Good fast erotic read.

Ok I'll be honest, this one wasn't my favorite out of the series. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best. I kind of almost hated the female protag.  She has a rough start but her head is so far up her ass she doesn't realize she isn't the only one who has suffered.

Storme was also a fave character of mine simply because she was able to stay ahead of Jonas for over ten years.  When the Breeds were being rescued form the Omega Lab, Storm's family is destroyed and they entrusted her with a file that was supposed to go to the Breeds, she runs tot he meeting place but having witnessed the devastation that is the rescue of the lab, she doesn't stay long enough for her contact to meet her, and off she goes into the world trying to stay ahead of those who want her dead, or to get to her for the information she has.  Now I totally get that she was a teenager when her family was killed and she was deeply scared and yet none of the compassion her father and brother had for the Breeds seemed to be ingrained in her.  She can't seem to differentiate between the Coyotes that are bad and the Breeds that are out and in the world trying to stay ahead of the Council.  Having grown up around them you would think she would have some compassion for them, and yet she's so effing hateful.  Ten years of running and you still can't seem to know who is bad and who isn't??

Styx is a funny and witty character, and I loved him as a mate.  He's perhaps honestly one of the few that doesn't just shove this onto his mate, not only does his beast hold back, but Styx himself refused to push his mate into mating without her consent or understanding what it meant.  However, she didn't really do anything to be worthy of him at all, she was hateful to him, to his friends and to his Alpha.  Granted the way Styx got her to come to the compound was kind of effed up, as she's a woman that's been on the run for so long she's lonely and thought she was getting one thing ad ended up with something else.

This story was very character driven, yet it also has so much action going on and we get some awesome meeting of the different factions of Breeds.  For me at times the characters didn't come through the way so many others have and I didn't feel like I connected to their motivations or emotions, so it felt flat and distant.

For the story the plot was very believable, the series keep s building the world of the Breeds shown to us previously in the other books.  it also lays down the ground work for the next few books in the queue.  Once agian if Jonas would stop manipulating and instead speak to people about what he needs he wouldn't have half the issues he does because he insists on manipulating everyone.   Since Lion's Heat we know why Jonas is now doing the things he is, however he would find that others would be more willing to help him if he didn't push them into it.  Granted he doesn't believe everyone has the same motivation as him, but they do, this is the future of the Breeds we are talking about and everyone who isn't a traitors jackass is here for saving it.

One thing I loved and still remember about the book is Styx's love for chocolate, and can I say he's a man after my own heart?!! And i just picture Jaimie from Outlander as his voice actor, everything was in his accent (lol)

While I may not remember or like the mate in this one as much as the others the revelations for the overarching story are very well burned into my brain and I can't wait to see how this begins to shake out into the other stories.
