This started off great, and then the female character got on my nerves because as the male character says, she is whiny.  Then again, he isn't much better, the only saving grace so far has been the story surrounding them. I did love that they were witty, spunky and that Emma when necessary could be relied on to do some funny as heck things, or say something outlandish.  I loved seeing Guy attempt to adapt to the modern world, especially to cell phones.

Guy's trapped in a well because he was an arrogant man who thought eh couldn't be harmed and his enemy managed to one up him.  He did a small ceremony that allowed him to follow a descendant and eventually when she passed on the spell jumped to another of her descendants, who he has talked to since she was a child.  Emma the descendant who is the only one who can hear Guy is being driven crazy by the hot voice i her head.  Guy ruins her every attempt at a 'normal' life and she wants to be done with him so she agrees to lie to her family and go off into a world where no one knows where she is to rescue a man she's never met, in a country she's unfamiliar with. Yeah nothing should go wrong at all.

This fantasy was at first really good, and I enjoyed it and laughed because well this was a new concept, I don't think anyone has ever thought of the gods in this fashion and that makes it pretty awesome actually.  Ok let's talk about what I loved, the characters were witty, and fun to read, when they weren't contradicting themselves. I loved that the story focused more on the mystery and gave the time for the story to unfold instead of it becoming a side piece to the romance.  I loved the world we are introduced to and the mythology she was building.

Let's talk about what didn't work for me. If I hear the name Tommasio one more time, I'm going to chuck my kindle across the effing room, seriously for a dude that's not the love interest he sure had a ton of screen time.  Also I really didn't feel it for the couple, they didn't seem to really be into each other, they spent 90 % of the book snarking at each other and calling each other hurtful names then BAM they are together. I'll admit it took a while for them to go there but nah I didn't feel like they really went together.  Separately they were hilarious people and they had some seriously witty and fun conversations and inner monologues but when they got together they fought over who was more Alpha in the relationship, the God or the puny human??

Guy (which isn't his real name) had a few moments where I thought she should have left him where she found him, especially because he kept calling her little girl. Yeah no, does nothing for me at all. i get that he's like 70000 years old but umm nope.  Then he would feel strongly for her then sometimes he would talk about her being whiny, which let's be really the girl whined a whole lot. I get why they both were the way they were, but each time they got the other's reason they would turn around and mess it up again, like didn't we just talk about this two seconds ago.  Also why the evasive maneuvers, every time Guy was supposed to share something he would clam up then not understand why Emma wanted to drop kick him across the room.  Then her crazy move to get revenge?? Really what are you doing?? How does that constitute revenge?? She stopped listening to the priest because she heard half a sentence and didn't move passed it. Yeah she got annoying fast. ESPECIALLY after she pulled the same move not once but TWICE, how many times are you going to do stupid stuff before you learn?? Right in the middle of a battle you decide to make stupid decisions, are you serious?? Especially when other people's lives depend on your decisions?? I'm too done with your idiot self.  Emma's head was way too far up her own butt way too many times for her to remain a likeable character, everything revolved around her according to her and she didn't see how it really didn't.

Emma would have moments of epiphany and understand Guy and why he did what he had to do to save her and her family and then she would turn around and throw it back in his face and not get it.  She was beyond naive and annoying with her back and forth whenever they got anywhere near each other.  She only ever believed him when others would tell her how amazing and wonderful he was and what he had done for humanity, then and only then would she think of someone else besides herself.  I'm not sure how stupid you have to be to not understand that your parents survival is more important than a small moment of comfort, the fact that she kept harping over the same shyt got on my nerves quickly.

Beyond those moments, I actually enjoyed the story, not so much the romance, but the glimpses of other characters, especially Cimil was wonderful. The story was great for laying the groundwork for the world and introducing us, but let's see how the others work out.  Yes I have the other book Accidentally In Love with A ..Vampire, I bought it before I finished this one.  I'm hoping that the kinks will be worked out before too long.

The romance of this one was tamer than most paranormal romances now a days, but I can't say I didn't like the couple coming together. I normally do like mine a little raunchier, but when they finally got there, it worked with the characters they had been written as, so yeah, it worked for them.

But about that ending though?? Never would have seen that coming.  Yeah even for a first book that was just so cruel to end on a cliffhanger like that. Cruel Mimi, just Cruel!!!

I'm going to read the second book (well because I already own it) and because it sounds good, maybe because it's already had the world created it will move faster.

This was a funny story with a few hinks thrown in but if you ignore those hinks this was actually really good.  It may not be burn rubber to get it, but I know if you're looking for some quirky paranormal romance that isn't too serious then I would recommend this.

“I hate Shepard Prescott.”
“Of course you do. Heaven forbid you’re normal and think he’s hot like
the rest of the female population on campus.” Kelli rolls her eyes, flicking her
long, perfectly wavy brown hair over her shoulder. I dodge out of the way
before all that glossy perfect hair smacks me in the face.
“Do you really think he’s hot?”
The pointed look Kelli sends my way is answer enough.
It doesn’t matter if I think or Kelli thinks he’s good looking because he
just is. There’s no denying that fact. But his arrogant attitude and smug
personality cancels out the sexiness.
“Seriously. He’s an asshole.” I stare at the back of the asshole’s head.
His hair is this streaked golden brown that almost looks like he paid for those
highlights, which I really hope he didn’t because oh my God, that would make
him even more pretentious. Though I’m sure he received those naturally
glorious blond streaks by sailing on his family’s yacht or whatever. Or perhaps
sunning himself on the beach during one of the many tropical vacations he no
doubt takes.
To say we run in different crowds is putting it mildly. He’s older than
me by two years. He’s in a frat and I’m not in a sorority. He’s rich as hell and I
am most assuredly not. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for him to
know I exist and I’m fine with that.
Really.
“Even his name makes him sounds like an asshole. And his nickname is
stupid too. Shep.” I grimace. All rich dudes have stupid nicknames I swear.
“Sounds like a dog’s name. ‘Here boy. Here Shep. Mommy’s got a treat for
you’,” I sing song then roll my eyes. “Ridiculous.”
“I just bet Mommy’s got a treat for him,” Kelli says, her droll voice
dripping with sarcasm.
“Pfft. Please. He wishes.” I wave my hand, sending a cautious glance in
Shep’s direction. I may be mocking his ass but the last thing I want is for him
to actually hear me.
“You’re on a roll tonight aren’t you?” Kelli sounds bored. That’s
because we are bored. Holed up in a crappy little underground poker palace run
by the supposedly legendary gambler Shepard Prescott and all of his rich,
asshole friends. Our boyfriends brought us here so they could play against Shep
and his gambling posse because they have a reputation. As in, they bet big so
they tend to win big. But more often than not, they lose. Really big…
Our boyfriends are counting on the losing really big part.
“I can tolerate maybe two more rounds of this and then I’m walking,” I
mutter before I finish off the rest of the warm beer in my requisite red Solo cup.
Grimacing, I set the cup on the table behind me and heave a big sigh, earning a
quick glance from my boyfriend. Pretty sad he recognizes my irritated sighs but
we really haven’t been getting along lately so it’s no surprise. He flashes me a
tense smile before returning his gaze to the cards in his hand.
“He looks stressed.” Kelli nudges my side with her pointy elbow,
making me yelp. Does she sharpen those things or what? “Joel. Look at him.”
I’m looking at him. And she’s right. Joel does look stressed. What else is
new? “He’s been wearing that look a lot lately.” Lack of funds will do that to a
person. Instead of saving the money his parents gave him at the beginning of
the semester to bail him out since he lost his part time job, he went and blew it
on stupid stuff. Like that pair of designer sunglasses he promptly lost when he
was at one of those lake parties, got drunk and went swimming with them on.
In February.

My boyfriend doesn’t always make the best choices.
“He doesn’t have very many chips left either,” Kelli mentions, leaning in
close to me so she can see past Shep. But who can really see past that guy? He
has shoulders as broad as a mountain. And all that wild does he pay for
highlights or not hair that sort of springs up as if it has a mind of its own.
“Good. Maybe that means we can leave soon.” I grab my cup from the
table and bring it to my lips only to realize it’s empty and I frown. Not that I
want more warm beer but…
“Get her another.” Shep raises his hand above his head and snaps his
fingers, his finger pointed backward.
Right at me.

“How the hell did he do that?” I ask no one under my breath, glancing up
at the barely dressed girl who’s suddenly standing in front of me, fresh Solo
cup in hand outstretched toward me. I take the drink from her with a mumbled
thank you and she flashes me a toothy smile before she bounces away.
“Look.” Another nudge from Kelli’s pointy elbow—that should be an
illegal weapon—before she’s pointing at the wall across from us. There’s a
mirror mounted there.
And Shepard Prescott is looking right at us, a smug grin stretching his

Le Sigh, it's the end y'all there is no new news and I couldn't hold out any longer. I finally read this after gobbling down Grady's Awakening.  I freaking Loved this one!! It's so good but there are still so many unanswered questions (at least for me), I never would have imagined the direction Bianca was taking us in & I'm so happy I have read this series.

When this series first started we were introduced to the O'Hara clan, which included three brothers and the wife of one of them and this showed the new world that has survived the cataclysm. I was so happy to have read this series because it has grown & expanded on the world Bianca first shared.  Resonance Mates were a thing of legend among the Alvian people,& emotions were seen as a weakness, and something that made you backwards, so when Mara Prime began her experiment she started it the old way and being unable to handle the task brought the result of her experiment to live with the O'Hara's until he was of age, Hara Prime or Harry to his family is that result and it's wonderful to see his story.

As the story progressed from O'Hara's Legacy we began to see  more of the Alvian society and how it was run, we learnt more about eh explorers who disappeared centuries ago and we learnt how the Alvian went so wrong.  this has taken that story arc and ended it in a wonderful way. For harry is goal has always been to love a human who knew what emotions was, he wanted to have the kind of relationship his parents had and he didn't believe e could find that among his other half of the family tree (and normally he would be right).

It was wonderful to read the unfolding of Harry's dream, seeing the woman and meant for him,the journey he had to go on to make the decision whether he would accept the Mates gave him or hold out for another. As more mystery is unfolded and we get drawn deeper into the intrigue we learn so much more about Alvian society and who they were before the experiments made them this way.  We learn so much of the history and all about Harry's place in the new world.  Change is coming and it came in the form of two amazing people. Both for Harry and for the world.

I LOVED this story, watching it all come together, seeing all the clues come out, reading as others became aware of all that had been taking place in the silence of the government.  I really loved seeing older characters and watching as they made an impact on Harry and his decisions.  I also felt bad for Harry because even though he was raised with emotions he at times was as callus as his unfeeling brethren.

I loved the talking to he received, because really at times he was very nonchalant about the gift he'd been given, I get that he had a dream for himself, but what he had been given was even greater.  I loved seeing Caleb again and loved that he was still such a good man despite being cooped up for decades.

In the end, Harry had to make some sacrifices to receive the ultimate dream and I loved the progression of it.   Omgosh guys so much happened and I wanted more from the story.  Bianca gave us so much, and yet so little.  Secrets were spilled, experiments done, lives changed and so much that was hidden became clear and I loved every second of it.

I loved the two characters that we were introduced to (I'm trying not to spoil it because it totally makes the second half so awesome). They were fun and funny once they got going and they totally made Harry a better man.

It's a wonderful book in the series and I highly recommend that you read them. It's amazing.

I took forever to read this book because Bianca had stopped writing for several years and I didn't want the series to end. Grady has been in the series as a background character since the beginning, he came with Mara 12 and we slowly began to see the giant bodyguard learn about human interaction through his visits with the family.

I was hopeful and scared for this story because Grady was such an amazing character that only an amazing woman would be best, and when the sister got her own story and it wasn't with Grady I was kind of disappointed, that would have been awesome. The story that Bianca wrote though?? OMG it was perfect, in every way, each of the partners that make up the trio is amazing.  It only would have worked with these three, Grady the amazing Prime, Gina the former world champion and Jim the leader of the Resistance.

I loved reading them coming together.  Gina was an amazing woman to read and she wasn't at afraid of embracing change, you got the sense that she has some deep scars from her time wondering in the woods, and you know she misses her old life because of the attachments that have not survived the cataclysm.  I loved reading the story from someone who wasn't from the family and still survived, Gina made her way to the hills of California and it is there that she is rescued, and there that she learns and becomes apart of the Brotherhood.  It is here that eventually meets Grady and from her that her mission becomes important enough to separate them and let her meet the other half of her soul.

The character development and arc are wonderful to read. The flow of the story engaging and perfect, each chapter gave just enough to make you ask more questions and keep reading to solve each one.  The overall story arc was maintained and advanced and you see things that were mentioned briefly in other stories come together and make even more sense now.  I loved watching the two different species come together for their one common goal: loving Gina.  Jim had a lot to learn to let go off, because well Alvians haven't done anything that humans can be happy about and Grady didn't get to be Prime by being nice, he was the chief hunter among his line and that meant that most of the free humans that were captured were due to his work, that's a lot for Gina and Jim to get over.  However the enclave they have been staying in and the newest additions to their ranks help to make them understand better, and the paths to human survival become even more clear.

The love story was wonderfully written and done in a way that not only advanced the plot but also added dimension to the different characters.  I loved how vulnerable each character was and how they had to learn to work and live together.

It was amazing to read and see the expansion of the world that we have been introduced to, I loved seeing that there were others among the alien race, and see that there was more going on that even Mara 12 didn't know about.  I loved that the experiments have expanded. I loved that the humans are doing their best to survive and of course as humans we can't be held down for long.  It's funny (in a sad way) that the way humanity has begun to come together has only happened because we had a greater common enemy, one that had deadly precision when it came to capturing humans for their experiments.

Reading those parts, the discussion of humans locked in pens and being used as experiments made my hear hurt, even though it's just a story, it's bad because you know there are places in this world where we as humans are doing the same or worse on our own.   This was an amazing addition to the series and I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what else happens, so far it's looking like Harry's Sacrifice which I picked up last year is the last of the books.  I'm not ready to let this world go, I want to know more I want to know if the Father gets his own mate and if she is who I think she is.  I want more from the world, will the other Prime take the test?? Will the counsel call off the hit on Prime??  Will we find out if there are more human enclaves and if they are hiding family members of everyone we met??

How will this world survive?? Will humanity be able to fight back? Can we survive the coming altercations??  Will the Alvian ever understand the damage they have wrought??

It's going to be bittersweet to read Harry's book, because it's coming to an end and I'm not ready, but I highly recommend this book and the series.

When doesn't this woman create an amazing story (yeah we're going to pretend, book three of the quartet didn't happen, it. never. happened. Got it?!!) Ok Monica created amazing characters in this new book, they were witty, funny, sarcastic, and snarky heroines, smart and slightly crazy hot men, who fall over themselves to get the heroine.  this was a good story, especially considering where it started.

I really loved this story. It's a great read that felt like a good romantic retelling like you sat down with a few friends and they decided to share how they met, and they keep cutting each other off to share little tidbits the other didn't know. It made me laugh, it was hot as heck when they hooked up, and I loved watching the formulation of their friendships.  Shep and Jade were so witty together, their back and forth banter kept me hooked to the page, because you never knew what the other was going to say or how they would react.

At first Jade was totally unimpressed with Shep and this totally threw him, he was used to having the women on his college campus accepting and giving him free reign in their lives.  I loved how his friends challenged him and his decisions, because without meaning to they helped to clarify a few things for Shep.  I was kinda intrigued with the idea that he owned a gambling hall, it's not something you see in the new adult books.  Shep wasn't your typical college kid either, yes he was a bit of a user (but if the women knew what was up and just wanted to hook up as well, I don't see what the problem is) but other than that he wasn't the crazy hella scary bad boy, he was pretty awesome to read; and I loved that despite all that experience Jade still made him act like a fool at times.

Jade was my kind of girl, she was so funny especially in her head, she felt so genuine and real., she also felt like the kind of girl I would hand out with. I loved her best friend Kelli, who was also funny and sarcastic,s he was the best at pushing Jade whenever Jade was trying to hide.  She was also totally in her corner whenever she felt Jade was in the right and would back her and be an amazing friend all around.

Can we get more from Em & Em?? They were hilarious and reminded me of these girls that lived in my building in college (I'm pretty sure they didn't have the habit, they were just that quirky and would share whatever was on their minds at the moment).  I enjoyed the moments with them, although they almost made Jade go down a path I'm not sure she was ready for (or should ever be ready for).

I'm guessing the other two books are going to be about Tristan and Gabe?? Idk and I don't care, I'm reading them anyway.  I'm going to need them soon though because yeah, too funny.


I also give this five extra steamy stars because holy moly did  Shep know how to use his whole body to please his woman.  I loved those scenes especially because of Jade's fears and Shep's desire to get to know her, not just any woman but Jade herself. It was awesome.

So funny story right, I see that Robin has a second book in this series coming out and I'm like yeah let me join that blog tour (it's coming up this month, heck I think it might have been yesterday, yep it was yesterday) but first let me read the first book in the series. One clicked it on amazon, no regrets because Robin always writes characters to steam up the sheets and make you love them (see her other book Sex and the Single Vamp that I reviewed last year).

Here's where the story gets funny, a few weeks ago I accidentally reset my kindle, so everything on it got wiped, all books, all the fun stuff that makes it mine, is gone, when I searched on my kindle before I purchased it didn't show this book so I bought it.  I go onto NetGalley to see if the second book is on there and up pops Temptation as a book I was approved for.. O_O yeah bad blogger. But hey at least I'm consistent right?? I bought the book I was going to read?? Right (yeah I'm just trying to make myself feel better about how unorganized I used to be, key words, used to).

Anyway onto the review.  I totally enjoyed reading this one.  Robin creates these characters that are wonderful to read and makes you get vested in the story. I read through this pretty quickly because I wanted to see what happened every time I clicked to the next page.

"I had thought the fire was dangerous, but I was wrong. Max was the thing I needed to worry about.
"You're no angel," I whispered.
"I'm glad you finally figured it out."

Max was a wonderful book boyfriend.  I really loved Kit because she was pretty boss, when she needed to be and was vulnerable when she needed to be.    Her with Max was awesome to read because unlike others even though he knew who she was he really just wanted Kit the woman.

I loved how things opened up between them both of them fighting their past experiences to accept the chance the other presented with loved that Kit was so adamant about taking care of her responsibilities.  I could understand her fears and why she didn't want to become involved.

I loved how Robin discussed the issues and didn't try to go all medical when needed to only share basic information.  ( As someone who is in the health care field, I despise when authors write story lines that are incorrect and share bad information, especially about medicine).  So to see her give basic information and not screw it up made my day. I loved their friends (the good ones, the ones that actually cared about them) and the good glimpses of the familial relationships.

Let's just say Robin writes some of the most sensual and sexy scenes between the characters that I have read in a long time without it being sleazy or over the top.  I loved every second of them coming together. and the way they dealt with their realities, especially when they realized they couldn't hide from it anymore.  I loved that Max was able to create a place in his life for Kit and that they both worked at being real with each other.

Of course this wouldn't be a romace, without some betrayal (not by the main characters), some sucking up (by the main characters), a few holy batman that's hot scenes and a few awww moments. Yeah Robin writes a good story and I can't wait to catch up on the second book.

Also there will be a soundtrack, because I'm a huge country music fan and as I was reading I kept thinking of songs that would be perfect and of course Robin mentions a few in the book. Be on the look out and I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Why won't Robin leave my emotions alone?!!! Just about every book she writes, she demands that I feel then jerks my feelings around, squeezes out some of my tears then drops me off. Sigh... so when can I get the third one??

I loved this book because the topic it took on, I especially loved the rawness of the characters' emotions.  And their reactions to the situation, and the twist and the ending, yeah I just loved it all.  Carlisle is an amazing complex character, she was raw & brutal and still a coward, but I emphasize with her and I loved her I understood her and I totally get her reasoning.

Teo is awesome he truly tries but he's completely unprepared for Carlisle.  He never saw her coming and when she hits, his world is never the same.  The two of them have been circling each other for a while, and with Teo set to graduate in a few days, & the summer coming up Carlisle feels she's safe to get what she wants and get out.  She isn't prepared for how much Teo makes her burn, challenges her, makes her laugh and just genuinely makes her feel damn good.  I absolutely loved her roommate and best friend,  who totally made her laugh, loved her and didn't really judge her, (even when I did).  At the beginning of the story for me Carlisle wasn't a likeable character because of her personal choices, I'm not a fan of drugging your problems away, & I get why she did it, and why for her it was necessary, but I still believe it's a cowards way of handling life; it's all going to be there when you come down from your high.  I felt for her and as the story progressed Carlisle grew on me and as she opened her eyes to the world again, so my eyes were opened to her world and her pain. ( I still don't believe in using drugs but I see why she did it).

I liked the semi-ending we got.  Because for me that was good, they were better but it's good that they acknowledge that it isn't always perfect and it doesn't always work out just because you love each other.    I really loved the research done and shown in the novel.  The clear and well understood changes they would each have to embrace.  And the challenges ahead were very daunting.

This isn't my first book dealing with a lead character who is disabled, Catherine Anderson does wonderful romances where they are characters that are physically disabled in some way.  This however was the first that explained her disability affected her life, her relationships, her psyche as well as intercourse.  Some of the other tales just brush over it,& I loved that Robin wasn't shy about it, she talked about the differences and how it changes, I even learnt a thing or three.

Matteo and Carlisle are written in a fun way, their conversations just drew you in and I know I laughed a few times, I so could hear her bad accent and it made me laugh and cringe to think about.  I loved their sexy times together, they certainly knew how to be inventive, and as Matteo says, he's very creative with the right stimulation.

Seeing that totally made me love this story even more than I did.  I was engrossed and enjoyed that others within the books were vocal about their doubts as if they could read some of my thoughts.  And that ending?? Those last few chapters?? Maaaan listen. Yeah I can't wait for book three.

It's going to be pretty darn interesting.

I wasn't aware when I got this that it was a part of a series.  It doesn't necessarily read like a novella, this could have been it's own novel if it had been fleshed out a bit more.

The character whose name we don't learn until the end is one of  a few colonists who were sent to terra form a new planet and wondered into a intergalactic war, they are stolen and sold by slavers to a man who wishes to experiment on them.  We find them when they are already at the lab center and are being kept prisoner.

In the cell next to them are a few warriors known for their powers, who have been asleep and only Earth women can wake them.  Yeah since this is an erotica you can imagine just how she has to wake them.

It's a quick story, that is both sensual and erotic. It however left so many strings un-tugged because it's a novella between novels. I felt had this been given the time it would have made a good story, especially if we got to know them better.

I've read some really good books by Kaitlyn O'Connor that are fleshed out and give great story and world building as well.  IF you're in the mood for Science Fiction Erotica I highly recommend her.

I got this book for free on Kindle and I needed a quick read, so I grabbed it this weekend.  It started as a fun read and then tried to get serious. I wasn't aware that is was a series when I got it.

I'm sure to some this book would be interesting and there certainly were a few moments that pulled you in a made you really want to know what was going on, but then some inconsistencies would happen and back to being lost you go.  Overall though the book was kinda scattered an when I finished I also felt scattered like wait, so what just happened??

Was it supposed to be a fun fluffy erotica?? Because that's how it originally started, then it got serious and I wanted more from it and it just didn't deliver.  I was so lost the sex at times was good and at others I was like "meh", when she would get pulled out of the scene so would I and then I just never felt like it got hot enough to get back into it.  I don't know I just wasn't really feeling it.

I didn't get much from the other characters, we only got glimpses of who they were and it wasn't enough to really feel connected to them or their story.  The scenario seemed a bit far fetched like there are way better ways in which to seek freedom and I don't buy that you are this connected and you still don't know their real names, Nah bruh.

It had it's moments and it was fun while reading, if you can ignore the silly/crazy/slow moments that don't really fit.  In the end kinda forgettable.

My goal this year is 200 books, if I break that down it comes out to 19 books per month , and  4/5 books a week. Totally doable in my books, so as the proverb says, you can eat an elephant one bite at a time, so here's my first few bites:

I did clean up quite a few of my Blog Tour books (I'm super proud of myself for that) but I didn't really stick with the theme, because as soon as I set it up I didn't feel like reading any of the books on the list. Le Sigh, I'm trying I swear.  So this month is going to be different. This month is going to be short due to BEA being at the end of the month.  And I know from experience I'm not going to get anything read that week.  I'm going to simply pick 10 books from this list, they can complete multiple items off the list.  In () are the books I want to try to read, what happens at the end of the month is anyone's guess.
